IRD Duhallow and the LIFE project were recently featured on August 23rd on the Saturday Supplement (Frank Lewis) show, Radio Kerry (http://media.radiokerry.ie/mediamanager/embed/player/podcasts/38/item/27369)
This was a fun day out for all the crew, as Frank put us through our paces, profiling the culture, history and ecology of the SPA/SAC at the source of the River Blackwater.
This area will be the focus of the next LIFE project RaptorLIFE, which will build on the work already ongoing with the IRD Duhallow LIFE project and the Allow River sub-catchment, which is located further down the River Blackwater catchment. This 2hr programme took over seven hours to record and miles later we finished exhausted, wet but happy. Perhaps a trackers boot-camp may have been a more apt description for the day. Good laughs and stories....

The IRD Duhallow LIFE project is supported through the LIFE financial instrument of the European Community.
